The announcement will be live streamed at abelprize.no and on our Abelprize YouTube-channel.

The President of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, Lise Øvreås will announce the recipient(s) of this year's Abel Prize on March 22. The Academy's choice of laureate(s) is based on the Abel Committee's recommendation.

The chair of the Abel Committee, Helge Holden, will then give the reasons for awarding the prize. This is followed by a popular presentation of the prize recipient's work, and his/her/their immediate response to being announced as the recipient(s) of the Abel Prize.
